A CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Hi Family! It was so good to see all of you last week. We all have had an emotional and comforting week with the passing of Grandma. Im so thankful that we have such a strong family that come together and support each other during this time. I was so relieved to know that she is reunited with the love of her life. Her funeral was a great celebration of her life and even though we are sad she is gone, we are so comforted knowing that she is back with our heavenly father and her eternal companion.
With her passing- we really all need to keep traditions going and get together for our annual family reunion and holiday get togethers, its what they would want and I know that Grandma looked forward to the get togethers and truly enjoyed the family bond we had. I know that everyones life is busy with kids, work, and other family obligations- but we HAVE to make it a priority to continue the reunions and get togethers.
I have posted a few pictures of the funeral. Please feel free to send me some to post, I wasnt able to get everyones family, so if you have some please send them!!!

In Loving Memory

IN LOVING MEMORY OF OUR MOTHER & GRANDMOTHER
LILLIAN LORRAINE SANDERS MITCHELL
JANUARY 05, 1928 - OCTOBER 20,2008

Our mother, Lillian Sanders Mitchell, has been re-united with her beloved husband Max P. Mitchell. Mom passed away peacefully on Oct 20, 2008 surrounded by her family. She was born January 5, 1928 in Young, Arizona to Malcolm Martin Sanders and Blanche Evelyn Clark. Mom was an only child until her father married Louise Simmons later in life, and gave her three sisters and one brother; Charlotte, Janis, Malcolm, and Mary.
Mom married the love of her life, Max P. Mitchell in Provo, Utah on November 26, 1948, and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in September 1951. Together they raised five children, Max S. (Elizabeth) Mitchell, Jon R. (Kaye) Mitchell, Janene (Chris) Weiss, Joseph E. (Alyn) Mitchell, and Lynn K. (Kristine) Mitchell. She was also blessed with 23 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Mom was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She loved the Gospel and was a true example of Christ-like love. She served in many positions in the Primary and Relief Society. Mom and Dad were able to serve two missions together in Columbia, South Carolina and London, England before Dad passed away in December 1993.
Mom loved spending time with her family and looked forward to special occasions when they all came together. She enjoyed reading, singing, puzzles and old movies. Mom was a talented artist and her paintings grace the homes of her children and grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband Max; her parents Malcolm Sanders, Evelyn Sanders and her step-mother Louise Sanders. Mom is also survived by her sister-in-law Katherine M. Pitt.
